NFL | AFC East: 2026 DFS Season Preview - Patriots, Jets, Bills, and Dolphins

The AFC East enters 2026 with four franchises at very different stages — New England defending a division crown, Buffalo pushing for a Super Bowl breakthrough, Miami rebuilding from the ground up, and the Jets searching for stability. For daily fantasy players, this division offers a mix of elite quarterback play, volatile receiving rooms, emerging tight ends and a few kickers who could swing contests. Below is a full DFS-focused breakdown — written in a fresh, human, professional tone — of what to expect from each team’s core fantasy positions.

Patriots

New England Patriots

Drake Maye put together an MVP-caliber season, finishing as runner-up to Matthew Stafford. With a full offseason in Josh McDaniels’ system, Maye should be even more comfortable operating a scheme built around timing, spacing and vertical shots. The wide receiver room is deeper than last year, even without Stefon Diggs. AJ Brown and Romeo Doubs arrive as the veteran stabilizers. DeMario Douglas, Kayshon Boutte, and Mack Hollins round out a rotation that will produce on occasion. At tight end, Hunter Henry remains Maye’s most trusted at the position and red-zone option. Rookie Eli Raridon adds depth but won’t threaten Henry’s workload early. The backfield remains intact with Rhamondre Stevenson and TreVeyon Henderson. Stevenson is the volume play, and Henderson is the explosive option. Kicker Andy Borregales benefits from an offense that moves the ball consistently but may stall against elite defenses.

Fantasy Outlook:

  • QB: Maye is a top-tier weekly play with MVP-level upside.
  • RB: Stevenson is the volume option; Henderson is a boom-or-bust.
  • WR: Doubs is the safest; Douglas is a sleeper.
  • TE: Henry is a reliable mid-tier starter.
  • K: Borregales is a steady option.

Jets

New York Jets

Geno Smith remains hopeful that he can revive his career. He is a classic wildcard capable of 300-yard outings when protected, but equally capable of low-output games when pressured. The receiving corps is the strength of this offense. Garrett Wilson finally gets help in the form of first-round rookie Omar Cooper Jr., a dynamic athlete who can win inside and outside. Cooper’s presence should free Wilson from constant double teams and elevate both players’ value. Tight end Kenyon Sadiq is another rookie with immediate fantasy appeal. His seam-stretching ability and yards-after-catch skillset make him a potential breakout TE in Frank Reich’s offense. Breece Hall is the standout at running back with no real threats behind him. Kicker Cade York replaces veteran Nick Folk. His strong leg is appealing, but the Jets’ inconsistent offense limits his reliability.

Fantasy Outlook:

  • QB: Smith is a risky play.
  • RB: Breece Hall is a safe play.
  • WR: Wilson is a target hog; Cooper Jr. is a high-upside rookie.
  • TE: Sadiq is a breakout candidate.
  • K: York is matchup-dependent.

Bills

Buffalo Bills

With Joe Brady now elevated to head coach, the Bills aim to keep their offensive identity intact. Josh Allen is a cheat code. His rushing production, deep-ball aggression and red-zone involvement make him one of the safest quarterbacks in the league. The wide receiver room gets a major upgrade with DJ Moore, who immediately becomes Allen’s WR1. Khalil Shakir, Joshua Palmer, and Keon Coleman round out a group that should be far more productive than last year’s inconsistent unit. James Cook III is coming off a league-leading rushing season and remains a top-tier running back. His efficiency, volume and pass-game involvement make him one of the safest RB plays in the AFC. Tight ends Dawson Knox and Dalton Kincaid offer touchdown upside but remain secondary options. Kicker Tyler Bass returns from injury and should resume his role as a dependable fantasy kicker.

Fantasy Outlook:

  • QB: Allen is a top-three quarterback.
  • RB: Cook is a high-floor, high-ceiling RB1.
  • WR: Moore is a strong WR1; Shakir is a mid-tier option.
  • TE: Knox and Kincaid are touchdown-dependent.
  • K: Bass is reliable.

Dolphins

Miami Dolphins

Malik Willis is a boom-or-bust option. His rushing ability gives him a high ceiling, but his passing consistency remains a question. De’Von Achane is the centerpiece of Miami’s fantasy outlook. His elite speed and outside-zone fit make him a threat on any given week. Jaylen Wright and Ollie Gordon II will rotate behind him but are not consistent plays. The wide receiver room is young and unproven after the departures of Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. Tutu Atwell offers splash-play potential, while Jalen Tolbert and Malik Washington provide depth. Tight end Greg Dulcich is a sneaky option thanks to his late-season surge and Willis’ tendency to target the middle of the field. Kicker Riley Patterson is reliable, but Miami’s rebuilding offense may limit his opportunities.

Fantasy Outlook:

  • QB: Willis is a high-risk play.
  • RB: Achane is a top-tier RB with elite speed.
  • WR: Atwell is a boom-or-bust option.
  • TE: Dulcich is a mid-tier sleeper.
  • K: Kicker Riley Patterson is a low-tier option.
